The Honiton & District Agricultural Association – “Where Farming Comes First” The show is annually held on the first Thursday in August and has grown to be one of the largest one day agricultural shows in the country. The show is held in the heart of the East Devon Countryside on a 140 acre site which was purchased by the Honiton & District Agricultural Association in 2003.  The show has a unique atmosphere blending traditional and new where its emphasis is agriculture and its associated activities first and foremost. It is a showcase for the best of local farming, produce, crafts and rural skills. The Association has a membership of over 500, is a company limited by guarantee and is a registered charity, which makes donations yearly to a wide range of local, agricultural and educational causes.The aim of the Association is to promote agriculture and related industries, specifically by the staging of its annual show.  Each year an official charity is nominated by the elected President in office and is given the opportunity to raise funds during the show. The Association supports successful Farms Competitions with classes running throughout the year ranging from barley to silage. The show is delighted to host the West of England Hound Show, the second largest in the Country, attracting packs from all over the British Isles.  Honiton attracts more than 20,000 visitors, over 1,000 livestock entries and in excess of 400 trade exhibitors making it one of the largest business and social events in East Devon.

TAUNTON FLOWER SHOW
August 2 & 3
A flower show with a difference! Running for 145 years in Vivary Park in the centre of Taunton - we have an arena where we will have terrier racing and a riding display by Riding for the Disabled. We also have one of the best military bands available - the Corps of the Royal Signals who will perform 3 times daily. We have a floral marquee with 30 exhibitors, and a competitive marquee with over 1500 competitive entries ranging from children's handwriting to floral art, from cooking and handicrafts to fruit and vegetables. We have a children's area for face painting, children's entertainer and this year pony rides by the Riding for the Disabled. We have over 200 outside trade stands, with dedicated craft and food hall marquees.

FESTIVAL OF BRITISH EVENTING

The Magic Millions Festival of British Eventing takes place at Gatcombe Park, home of HRH The Princess Royal and her family, in one of the most beautiful areas of the Cotswolds. This established and world respected sporting event has been running for over 35 years, creating a must have date in the diary for both competitors and general public alike. This unique Festival incorporates the Magic Millions British Open, Intermediate and Novice Championships, as well as the Amateur Championship, The Corinthian Cup and for the first time this year plays host to the RoR/NTF Retrained Racehorse Event Championship. NORTH DEVON SHOW

This is North Devon's premier Agricultural spectacle. The annual event is a celebration of North Devon's agricultural roots. A host of livestock classes occupy the arenas throughout the day with Alpacas, Cattle, Horses, Sheep, Show Jumping and Open Dog Show. Attractions, displays, demonstrations and trade stands for all. COWES WEEK

Cowes Week is traditionally held during the week beginning on the first Saturday after the last Tuesday in July (except where the tides make the traditional dates virtually unworkable. The Gillingham & Shaftesbury Show is one of the largest one day agricultural shows in the south, held on our own Turnpike Showground in North Dorset. CORNISH STEAM & COUNTRY FAIR

The Cornish Steam & Country Fair takes place each year at the Stithians Showground nr Truro in Cornwall and is organised by WESES Ltd on behalf of the West of England Steam Engine Society. Biddenden Tractorfest and Country Fair is now in its 6th year. MID - SOMERSET SHOW

THE MID-SOMERSET AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY: Bringing you The Mid-Somerset Show, the only one day agricultural show in the South West with free entry for pedestrians. A fantastic family day out with something for everyone from dog shows and cheese tasting to livestock displays and crafts stalls. Farming has a long tradition of mixing business with pleasure and it is from this culture that the Mid-Somerset Show emerged over 160 years ago. Legend has it that back in the early 1850’s that after a drink at The Bell Inn in the nearby village of Evercreech, the Evercreech Farmers Club was born and the inaugural annual ploughing match was held. From the very beginning this was always more than just a ploughing contest between local farmers; there were also classes for the best Hunter and for cheese and butter making.

SOUTH DOWNS SHOW
August 17 & 18
The South Downs Show is now in its 6th year and draws crowds from Chichester, Midhurst, Petworth, Winchester, Fareham, Portsmouth, Waterlooville, Havant, Guildford and of course Petersfield, and based on last years figures, it is expected to draw crowds of 7,000+ onto one of the most easily accessible showgrounds in the country (directly beside the main A3) with plenty of parking.

This is a traditional rural event which deliberately kept at a reasonable size to maintain its charm and character. It is a very popular annual occasion for locals with many of the parish being involved in its running but it also attracts folks from around Cornwall and on holiday.  Indeed, some visitors book their holiday to coincide with the fair each year. The last fair attracted well over 1000 adults plus youngsters.

HOLSWORTHY  & STRATTON SHOW
August 22
A fun filled day out for all the family. Entertainment all day long in the Sully & Co main ring and the Cornish mutual entertainment ring including gymnastics, falconry, motorcycle stunts, Jive dancing, children’s sports, parade of horses and hounds, and horse jumping. Come and meet the livestock and see the grand parade of Prize winning Cattle, Sheep and Pygmy Goats. Demonstrations throughout the day of thatching, woodturning, and sheep shearing. Punch and Judy shows throughout the day, Donkey Rides, and static display from the army cadets, and art from local children. Large marquees with craft, local food and drink plus the magnificent flower tent, and the WI and YFC exhibits.  Bring your dog and enter it into our family dog show, visit our many stands exhibiting everything from tractors to handbags! The Melplash Agricultural Society Show is one of the South West’s premier agricultural exhibitions and is held at The West Bay Show grounds, Bridport, Dorset on the last Thursday before the August Bank holiday. The aim of the show is to mix the agricultural and horticultural themes of yesteryear with the style of attractions that will appeal to younger visitors.  The show has now been going for over 150 years.  It is held over the August bank holiday weekend in Caddey’s field, Egham close to Runnymede famous for its own history, and is approximately 40 minutes west of London.Around the showground visitors can enjoy steam and traction engines, a vintage car display, martial arts demonstrations, and the ever popular dog show. Trade stands and catering are always busy and the new Music and Real Ale marquee is very popular entertaining the crowds with a variety of live music and selling ciders, beers and a real ale specially brewed for the show each year. There is also a traditional display of good old children's entertainment of Punch and Judy.
