The
Informed Investor began publishing from offices at 13 Nottingham Place,
London, W1 ( See Picture Left) in 1972. It started as a printed
publication for Drummond & Co offering Investments and Insurance.
Long before today's regime in regards commissions Drummond & Co
pioneered discount selling of Linked Insurance and Unit
trusts-
splitting the commissions with the purchaser. Many in the Industry
condemned this and many leasing Insurance Groups refused to take their
business. Most of those companies have gone out of business today &
Drummond & Co are recognised as the Company that led the way. Today
40 years later Drummond & Co still lead the firld in Financial
Innovations and have advised both the public and professionals.
As Financial Commentators the Informed Investor have, over the years, Informed Investors about dangerous offers and Financial mis-doings sometimes years before the scandals broke. or

+ Standing Orders + Direct Debits + Wage/Pensions straight into your account + Cash through Link or Post Office |
For many years we have endeavoured to assist people who have found it difficult to obtain personal & business bank accounts. We have outsourced this to several companies who have assured us that they could obtain such accounts. They actually completed so few that we made a decision earlier this year not to continue with the outsourcing. Instead we try & direct clients towards the better sources of getting accounts. Our advisory department onwill still assist you .Basic bank accounts are designed for people who find it hard to get an ordinary current account.Basic bank accounts are designed for people with little income or who have a poor credit rating and they're an excellent start for anyone who's not used to having a bank account, not least because they're much easier to get than current accounts. Any wages, benefits and tax credits can be paid directly into the account and you can usually pay bills by direct debit and/or standing order - something could help reduce your bills, as having a bank account means you can get discounts on services such as gas and electricity. You'll also get a debit card giving you full access to cash machines and your account can also be operated through the Post Office as well as the bank your account is with. However, you do not get a cheque book and nor will you get an overdraft limit, although that's no bad thing if the account is being used by someone who needs to keep a tight rein on their budget. Nevertheless, having no overdraft facilities means that if a direct debit bounces, you could be charged outrageous penalties, perhaps £35 or more. A few companies such as the Nationwide and Co-op will even offer basic bank accounts to people who have just gone bankrupt - a godsend for anyone who suddently finds themselves with current accounts that have been frozen by the Official Receiver. But it might be better for those of you who require a very basic account to apply for:The Co-Operative Bank CashminderA more basic account, designed to give you maximum control over your money. No overdraft is available but an Electron debit card gives you access to your cash. You can have your wages, salary, pension, benefits or other income paid straight into your cashminder account. You can also arrange to make regular payments from your account via standing order or Direct Debit, free of charge. An Electron Debit CardThis is the key to your account:
Standing Orders and Direct DebitsYou can make regular payments from your Cashminder account free of charge. These will be made on - time, every month (provided there is enough money in your account). To find out more about the Cashminder account phonethe Co-Op on: 08457 212 212 The Co-operative Bank is a member of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme established under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. In respect of deposits with a UK Office, payments under the Scheme are limited to 100% of the first £2000 of a depositor's total deposits with the bank and 90% of the next £33,000, resulting in a maximum payment of £31,700.
